We have 2 Frastan rewinders that we acquired in an acquisition, one is 30 wide and one is 48 wide. We run the 48 machine much more than the 30 machine. We run 50# offset paper that we first print with a flood coat ink to completely color one side of the web. These rolls are typically produced in 50 and 200 rolls with about a 7/8 dia hole in the center. We are not overwrapping the rolls, we just hand tape and hand pack the finished rolls into cartons. We have no idea what the maximum and optimum running speeds are and what we might need to do to achieve those speeds. I am also wondering how often the rubber tires on the winding rollers need to be changed, we seem to change them quite often and after the change typically we see a better wind but I think we are changing them needlessly rather than making adjustments. Thanks,Bill
