Mark I had the same problem as you with th cdi box. Mine was an 88 Everyone says that only 87 and 88 will fit. Its not true If u can find a cdi unit for a 89-96 vt1100 they are almost identical it will plug straight up to your harness with no mods. You will have 1 extra wire by itself, this is for the kickstand and clutch safety switch. All u have to do is ground out this wire and crank up your bike. Okay, this is a happy moment.I fixed the washing machine. I tried this a few weeks back and nothing worked right then (got it working though), but today the thing just fell apart again. I popped open the front cover, the motor was (this time) easy to remove, I super-glued the bottom pulley back together, and it was running again in 30 minutes. The squeak and rattle are gone.
