I use to work for Amada for 7 years. Last January I started my own laser repair, install, training business. Ive never worked on the Spectra Physics, But I have worked on PRC and FANUC types of laser that come with Amada machines.One of my customers with the same machine as what you have. Next month I have a training class with Rofin to fix up their laser. We could wait till after that or I could just figure it out with Amada and Rofin phone support.I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and almost ten years laser experience. This unit was the best buy (investment), that I can ever had done, countless job Ive completed with it, thank you for your product. I have a Spellman 7681 power supply unit that is not functioning properly. When I try to power it on, there is no response from the unit - no lights, sounds, or any indication of power being supplied. I have checked the power source and connections, but the unit still does not power on. I suspect there may be an internal issue with the power supply itself that needs to be addressed. I bought this instrument new around 2000. I stopped using it about 10 years ago because the range was too low. If I remember correctly I was told that this was because a diode or something was weak. Other than that, the laser should be in good condition. Can it be reworked or does it make economic sense?
