I have a King Koil elect. bed. About year 1981.The wormgear that drives the up and down motion of the bed, has come out of the motor. I cant tell what is supposed to keep the end of the wormgear in place in the motor. What I am calling a wormgear is a long geared shaft, about 1/2 in in diameter. The back end of the wormgearshould be attached into the motor, as the bedframe rides the wormgear to raise and lower the head of the bed. Any info about what is missing, or why this shaft will nor stay in the motor would be appreciated. I am able to make repairs, if I knew what part or parts are missing, and how to purchase them Motor/drive unit is Von Weise model V03232A876 1/10 h.p. 1.4 amps. 19 to 1 ratio. Serial A-80. πŸ“ HENRY McCUISTION said:
One way to test whether it is your controller or a motor is to switch the plug from the nonfunctioning section (Head, Foot or Bed) into the recepticle for one of the working sections, then use that control button to test the motor itself. Example: If the head does not work but the foot does, unplug the head motor and plug it into the socket for the foot motor. Use the Foot control buttons to raise and lower the head. If the head now works, the problem most likely lies in the controller itself; usually the button itself has failed and the entire controller must be replaced. I am currently looking for a controller myself.
