Slight dark spot on screen

Dear Sir,

I am using Dell 17" Monitor for my personal computer purchased on 6 Jan 2007. It is working very nicely.

To wipe of the dried spot of a dropping of some insect that fell on the screen I took a cloth and cleaned stain.

Now that spot turned into slightly dark. Though it is not visible at a
sudden glance,can you advice me how to bring it as it was earlier.
Also if there is a need to update the driver R81530(F1704FPV.icm)
that I am using. Can you give me email reply?
