we have an old rittenhouse intercom system. the units look old but still works fairly well. need information on how to update system. we're remodeling in some areas and would like to check out updating units. don't have specs on the system. not sure of specs but Name on the system is Rittenhouse Solid State am/fm radio intercom. It has a main station attached to 5 rooms and a front door intercom. I would like the update to include Pandora and a video front door intercom.

The installation manual has been misplaced and I am not sure which wires go to which connection. There is a red wire, a black wire, and a yellow with a green wire. I have the above model doorbell and really like the sound vs. the new \"electronic sound\" doorbells. Problem is the mechanism inside the doorbell (the part with the two knockers that the wires attach that hit the bells to make the sound) no longer works. I moved this door chime/clock when it was working from one home to another. The electrician that hooked it up did not do it correctly and I have no schematic for how it should be wired. This problem may be caused by a lighted doorbell. After the bell is wrung, the light will re-illuminate. When that happens it may be drawing just enough power to make the door chimes think that the button was pressed once again. This is a repeating pattern.If a lighted door button is used, the solution is to either replace the button with a non-lighted version, or open the button and disconnect the light inside it.Yes, I had this problem myself. I had replaced an old doorbell button with a new, lighted one. I ripped out the tiny light inside and it worked fine after that.

Only one of four chimes works, although we detect a faint electronic buzzing, in sequence, of the other three. For example, we hear Chime A, buzz, buzz, pause, buzz, buzz, Chime A.
