My Rittenhouse door chime\'s top plunger does not work, the previous homeowner said when he was hooking it up, by accident the top soleniod was getting power all the time and over heated and it has not worked right since... can this be fixed ????

Installed in 1987 when we built the house. Has begun sporadic multiple, single dings, all hours, day and night. I have replaced, back up battery and fuse in motor. Now makes a fairly loud buzzing sound also. Thoughts?

I am looking for a wiring diagram for a Rittenhouse, Spartan Electric, Fayettevile NC C8845 unit which is 30 to 35 years old. It seems to be either able to use two D cells or 16V transformer but I am got sure how to wire it up. Any ideas? Thanks.

I get typically one of three chimes to sound when the doorbell is rung, occassionally 2 followed by a buzzing sound. Some of the wires were loose and I tightened them, but still don\'t get all the tones. Any ideas on what to do to get all three chimes to ring?
