Can you advise if a Emerson Rittenhouse RC 577 Doorbell mechanical chime will work with a 24V Transformer?I have a 16V and wanted to add a camera to this?ThanksGene 732-754-1205I cannot locate a manual im guessing this was made in the 70\'s

I have the exact same problem, but it\'s not caused by a lighted doorbell. Without the doorbell connect (and not crossing the wires) the chime mechanism keeps repeating. I have Model 380 16V. I had connected it ot a Ring Video 2 Doorbell and it worked fine for several months. Now there is a loud humm coming from the chime. I think the Ring ihas a problem. Was working well until I sanded and painted the kitchen. I took the chimes down to paint, put them back and nothing works. I get voltage coming in but it doesn\'t move anything.
