My mom and dad has an old (approx.37yrs) rittenhouse intercom system and they need a replacement bulb for the main unit. I\'ve tried searchingonline but since mom nor dad know the exact part # i\'m having no luck.Dad said it was a low wattage pilot lamp?? GE19 or R19???? I have the exact same problem, but it\'s not caused by a lighted doorbell. Without the doorbell connect (and not crossing the wires) the chime mechanism keeps repeating. The small piston that strikes the chime does not return back to the original position. There is a spring on the piston. It seems like the piston should have a retainer of some sort on the end to hold the spring in place.
