I have a Rittenhouse intercom system that was installed in the 60\'s that worked fine until recently. Everything still works fine except the main intercom/control unit. Is there a replacement unit I can buy that I can use with all my existing speakers, etc throughout the house? Even a unit that only played music would be OK with me.

This problem may be caused by a lighted doorbell. After the bell is wrung, the light will re-illuminate. When that happens it may be drawing just enough power to make the door chimes think that the button was pressed once again. I have Model 380 16V. I had connected it ot a Ring Video 2 Doorbell and it worked fine for several months. Now there is a loud humm coming from the chime. I think the Ring ihas a problem. A Rittenhouse model 312 came with my home. It works but the chimes are not loud enough to heard unless you are in the room where the doorbell is mounted.I would hate to replace it because other than this it is very workable.
