we have an old set of chimes which were taken from our hallway after a fire, now they require repair, model number is not visible, however, it is a four long pole, with 4 or 8 note feature.would love to repair this

The door chime is not working properly in that some of the hammers are not striking properly. sometimes they reach the tubes and sometimes not. The small piston that strikes the chime does not return back to the original position. There is a spring on the piston. It seems like the piston should have a retainer of some sort on the end to hold the spring in place.
