The small piston that strikes the chime does not return back to the original position. There is a spring on the piston. It seems like the piston should have a retainer of some sort on the end to hold the spring in place. Is there supposed to be a retainer on the end of the piston to keep the spring in place?

I TOOK THE CLOCK TO A ANTIQUE DEALER HE TOOK THE MOTOR OUT AND REPLACED IT WITH A BATTERY UNIT. I AM LOOKING TO REPLACE IT BACK WITH THE ORIGINAL MOTOR.
