Our house was built in 1978 and we purchased it in 1997. It had the Rittenhouse monitor system in place with the main unit in the kitchen and smaller units scattered thought the house and in an attached apartment. The unit has never worked since we have been here and I was wondering if it is repairable?

The only way I could silence them was to switch off the circuit breaker. If I turn the breaker back on the alarms start sounding again. How do I reset them. There is no apparent reset button; nor can I find a master control box or module anywhere. Do they use them? They are connected to the ceiling box by 4 wires. Any help would be appreciated. I have a ritenhouse emerson door chime unit. It just started chimeing for no reason I had to disconnect it to silence it. Now when I hooked it back up nothing happens. Clock doesn\'t work, chimes don\'t work.Model 086331 4 tubed chime It also has a teledcrome syncronis motor. Only one of four chimes works, although we detect a faint electronic buzzing, in sequence, of the other three. For example, we hear Chime A, buzz, buzz, pause, buzz, buzz, Chime A. Ihave about a 30 year old rittenhouse with 4 chimes.It seems that the solenoids that activate the strikers,are getting a little lazy.I have had one apart and try to clean it ,with not much succes,I even lost one of those tiny springs. Existing model was put in my home maybe late 60\'s, with ivory base unit and 4 ivory receivers plus brass door unit intercom. I have Model 380 16V. I had connected it ot a Ring Video 2 Doorbell and it worked fine for several months. Now there is a loud humm coming from the chime. I think the Ring ihas a problem.
