I have the above model doorbell and really like the sound vs. the new \"electronic sound\" doorbells. 4 out of 10 times whenever I press the button it works.How do I know if the transformer that needs replacement or if the wiring itself that went wrong? This problem may be caused by a lighted doorbell. After the bell is wrung, the light will re-illuminate. When that happens it may be drawing just enough power to make the door chimes think that the button was pressed once again. Similiar issue, my doorbell kept sticking. So I replaced the sticky button but now my springs inside the bell housing seem to be sprung and unable to move the plunger the full range to ring or retract.
