Years ago lightening hit house the chime stoped working the unit is in the kitchen and of coarse the door bell at the front door to push with finger ..doesnt work anymore can this be fixed ??/

This unit puts out a chirping sound (Similar to sound of a smoke alarm) on a continuous basis, one chirp about every 30 seconds. Please advise what I should do, short of disconnecting the unit, to stop this annoying sound.Thank you,Richard Baer
