Years ago lightening hit house the chime stoped working the unit is in the kitchen and of coarse the door bell at the front door to push with finger ..doesnt work anymore can this be fixed ??/

The installation manual has been misplaced and I am not sure which wires go to which connection. There is a red wire, a black wire, and a yellow with a green wire. The places to connect are for the front, rear, and transformer. Please advise. We purchased our present home in 1998. It was custom built in 1983 with many upgrades that were available at that time. Unfortunately since we have lived here the system does not work. The main unit is 17\' wide and 9\" tall. There are 12 units scattered throughout the house. They each measure 7.5\"…Purchase or Repair: ...We purchased our present home in 1998. I think what we have may be on the large size as far as the measurements of each room speaker and the main system as well. because of this we are afraid we are looking at a major renovation to replace it. Only one of four chimes works, although we detect a faint electronic buzzing, in sequence, of the other three. For example, we hear Chime A, buzz, buzz, pause, buzz, buzz, Chime A. My mom and dad has an old (approx.37yrs) rittenhouse intercom system and they need a replacement bulb for the main unit. I\'ve tried searchingonline but since mom nor dad know the exact part # i\'m having no luck.Dad said it was a low wattage pilot lamp?? GE19 or R19???? This problem may be caused by a lighted doorbell. After the bell is wrung, the light will re-illuminate. When that happens it may be drawing just enough power to make the door chimes think that the button was pressed once again. This is a repeating pattern.If a lighted door button is used, the solution is to either replace the button with a non-lighted version, or open the button and disconnect the light inside it.Yes, I had this problem myself. I had replaced an old doorbell button with a new, lighted one. I ripped out the tiny light inside and it worked fine after that.
