I get typically one of three chimes to sound when the doorbell is rung, occassionally 2 followed by a buzzing sound. Some of the wires were loose and I tightened them, but still don\'t get all the tones. Any ideas on what to do to get all three chimes to ring?

This problem may be caused by a lighted doorbell. After the bell is wrung, the light will re-illuminate. When that happens it may be drawing just enough power to make the door chimes think that the button was pressed once again. I am looking for a wiring diagram for a Rittenhouse, Spartan Electric, Fayettevile NC C8845 unit which is 30 to 35 years old. It seems to be either able to use two D cells or 16V transformer but I am got sure how to wire it up. Any ideas? Thanks.

My manual says 4-8 Note Chime Models (534, 535, 552, 577, 618, 633). I don't know which one I have. It has long chime tubes and a clock on top. The door bell works great, but the clock doesn't.
