sheetrocking my house after it was flooded by katrina, the contractor stupidly threw away the master station to my doorbell/radio/intercom system which rendered the system inoperable. i have asked an electrician friend to look at it and he cannot find a suitable retrofit. we will have to replace the whole system which includes one substation and four remote stations. i am looking for recommendations of brands to replace it with (nutone\'s white, plastic master stations don\'t suit my mid-century modern home). i am looking for industrial-looking, high-end brushed chrome or nickel ones.or if anyone has a master station they would like to sell me, that would be terrific... many thanks!!

We purchased our present home in 1998. It was custom built in 1983 with many upgrades that were available at that time. Unfortunately since we have lived here the system does not work. I think what we have may be on the large size as far as the measurements of each room speaker and the main system as well. because of this we are afraid we are looking at a major renovation to replace it. (I\'ve seen pics of what appear to be identical units labeled 631/632).I\'ve got it hooked up and the basic functions seem to be working - ie front doorbell and westminster chimes.However, as a kid, I seem to remember this thing also chiming on the hour and perhaps, single notes on the quarter hour, but it doesn\'t do that any more. Am I imagining things or has dad disabled this function somehow?I do see two screws on the extreme upper-right of the circuit board that have a jumper installed. What\'s that for?Lastly, I\'d like to install a 2nd door bell in the basement (I work at home, in my office basement and can\'t hear the main bell all the time). Before installing the Rittenhouse, I just had two bells wired together in parallel, but when I tried to do this with the Rittenhouse, it just triggered the chimes.
