I have the exact same problem, but it\'s not caused by a lighted doorbell. Without the doorbell connect (and not crossing the wires) the chime mechanism keeps repeating. I\'m not sure whether it\'s because the contacts aren\'t lined up correctly or whether it\'s a wiring problem. I\'ve tinkered and tinkered to no avail.

Similiar issue, my doorbell kept sticking. So I replaced the sticky button but now my springs inside the bell housing seem to be sprung and unable to move the plunger the full range to ring or retract.
