I have a 30 year old rittenhouse door chime with the 4 sequential chimes, one of the plungers has gone lazy. I took the transformer out to try to clean it and lost the little spring that gives the plunger resistance . Do you have any ideas ?Or do you sell parts, perhaps a whole tansformer. I have the exact same problem, but it\'s not caused by a lighted doorbell. Without the doorbell connect (and not crossing the wires) the chime mechanism keeps repeating. I\'m not sure whether it\'s because the contacts aren\'t lined up correctly or whether it\'s a wiring problem.
