I have the above model doorbell and really like the sound vs. the new \"electronic sound\" doorbells. Problem is the mechanism inside the doorbell (the part with the two knockers that the wires attach that hit the bells to make the sound) no longer works. The small piston that strikes the chime does not return back to the original position. There is a spring on the piston. It seems like the piston should have a retainer of some sort on the end to hold the spring in place. We purchased our present home in 1998. It was custom built in 1983 with many upgrades that were available at that time. Unfortunately since we have lived here the system does not work. I think what we have may be on the large size as far as the measurements of each room speaker and the main system as well. because of this we are afraid we are looking at a major renovation to replace it. I have a Rittenhouse / Emerson intercom system with individual stations for each room. Two of the intercom speakers nolonger work. When I opened them they have one red, one yellow and one black wire leading from the unit. Is it possible to get them worked on or replaced. I have a ritenhouse emerson door chime unit. It just started chimeing for no reason I had to disconnect it to silence it. Now when I hooked it back up nothing happens. Clock doesn\'t work, chimes don\'t work.Model 086331 4 tubed chime It also has a teledcrome syncronis motor.
