I have the above model doorbell and really like the sound vs. the new \"electronic sound\" doorbells. Problem is the mechanism inside the doorbell (the part with the two knockers that the wires attach that hit the bells to make the sound) no longer works. The only way I could silence them was to switch off the circuit breaker. If I turn the breaker back on the alarms start sounding again. How do I reset them. There is no apparent reset button; nor can I find a master control box or module anywhere. Do they use them? They are connected to the ceiling box by 4 wires. Any help would be appreciated. I have the exact same problem, but it\'s not caused by a lighted doorbell. Without the doorbell connect (and not crossing the wires) the chime mechanism keeps repeating. I\'m not sure whether it\'s because the contacts aren\'t lined up correctly or whether it\'s a wiring problem. Ihave about a 30 year old rittenhouse with 4 chimes.It seems that the solenoids that activate the strikers,are getting a little lazy.I have had one apart and try to clean it ,with not much succes,I even lost one of those tiny springs. I have Model 380 16V. I had connected it ot a Ring Video 2 Doorbell and it worked fine for several months. Now there is a loud humm coming from the chime. I think the Ring ihas a problem. This problem may be caused by a lighted doorbell. After the bell is wrung, the light will re-illuminate. When that happens it may be drawing just enough power to make the door chimes think that the button was pressed once again. This is a repeating pattern.If a lighted door button is used, the solution is to either replace the button with a non-lighted version, or open the button and disconnect the light inside it.Yes, I had this problem myself. I had replaced an old doorbell button with a new, lighted one. I ripped out the tiny light inside and it worked fine after that.
