Is there a new updated unit (with new bells & whistles) that can use the existing wiring and wall recesses of the old units. If so, where can I get them and what would be a ballpark pricing? Thanks

The door chime is not working properly in that some of the hammers are not striking properly. sometimes they reach the tubes and sometimes not. I have the exact same problem, but it\'s not caused by a lighted doorbell. Without the doorbell connect (and not crossing the wires) the chime mechanism keeps repeating. My Rittenhouse door chime\'s top plunger does not work, the previous homeowner said when he was hooking it up, by accident the top soleniod was getting power all the time and over heated and it has not worked right since... can this be fixed ????

I am looking for a wiring diagram for a Rittenhouse, Spartan Electric, Fayettevile NC C8845 unit which is 30 to 35 years old. It seems to be either able to use two D cells or 16V transformer but I am got sure how to wire it up. Any ideas? Thanks.
