The door chime is not working properly in that some of the hammers are not striking properly. sometimes they reach the tubes and sometimes not. The Rittenhouse door intercom answering system system was installed in 1978. It is not functioning well. Do you have a newer replacement for it that would still have the doorbell and intercom system? Does a new unit come with the exterior speaker?

we can not get it to chime in sequence. if doorbell is pressed it chimes once (#4).

I am looking for a wiring diagram for a Rittenhouse, Spartan Electric, Fayettevile NC C8845 unit which is 30 to 35 years old. It seems to be either able to use two D cells or 16V transformer but I am got sure how to wire it up. Any ideas? Thanks.
