We installed our Rittenhouse intercom system in 1978 when we built our new home. The speakers look out of date and would like a better main unit. We purchased our present home in 1998. It was custom built in 1983 with many upgrades that were available at that time. Unfortunately since we have lived here the system does not work. The main unit is 17\' wide and 9\" tall. There are 12 units scattered throughout the house. They each measure 7.5\"…Purchase or Repair: ...We purchased our present home in 1998. There are 12 units scattered throughout the house. They each measure 7.5\" tall by 8\" wide. I think what we have may be on the large size as far as the measurements of each room speaker and the main system as well. because of this we are afraid we are looking at a major renovation to replace it. New drywall and all that. Is there a possibility that it can be repaired or does Rittenhouse have a replacement that would fit? Please advise.Thank you,Marie Gunderman

I have a 30 year old rittenhouse door chime with the 4 sequential chimes, one of the plungers has gone lazy. I took the transformer out to try to clean it and lost the little spring that gives the plunger resistance . Do you have any ideas ?Or do you sell parts, perhaps a whole tansformer. The small piston that strikes the chime does not return back to the original position. There is a spring on the piston. It seems like the piston should have a retainer of some sort on the end to hold the spring in place. I have a Rittenhouse / Emerson intercom system with individual stations for each room. Two of the intercom speakers nolonger work. When I opened them they have one red, one yellow and one black wire leading from the unit. Is it possible to get them worked on or replaced. 4 out of 10 times whenever I press the button it works.How do I know if the transformer that needs replacement or if the wiring itself that went wrong?
