I have the above mentioned door chime (Rittenhouse door chime model C8536) that does not work correctly. There where some broken wires from the transformer coils that I soldered back on and now it does not work correctly. Do you have a schematic for this unit?

This problem may be caused by a lighted doorbell. After the bell is wrung, the light will re-illuminate. When that happens it may be drawing just enough power to make the door chimes think that the button was pressed once again. The small piston that strikes the chime does not return back to the original position. There is a spring on the piston. It seems like the piston should have a retainer of some sort on the end to hold the spring in place.
