Please help with this problem:We own a Taylor #5458 Max-Min Self-Registering Thermometer, purchased about 1985. Recently it was dropped and broken. Whatever chemical was in the thermometer got on our kitchen floor and into the refrigerator, which was open at that moment. We cannot get rid of the nauseating odor! We have tried kitchen cleaners and granulated charcoal but after over a month the smell prevails.First, what was in that thermometer? Is it something toxic? Mercury doesn\'t have an odor, does it?Second, how can we neutralize and/or remove it?We are very frustrated in dealing with this and can find no local authorities to advise us. Please help.Thanks.Dan Keeslardankeeslar@gmail.com408 471 4023Campbell, California
