A Rittenhouse model 312 came with my home. It works but the chimes are not loud enough to heard unless you are in the room where the doorbell is mounted.I would hate to replace it because other than this it is very workable.

I get typically one of three chimes to sound when the doorbell is rung, occassionally 2 followed by a buzzing sound. Some of the wires were loose and I tightened them, but still don\'t get all the tones. Any ideas on what to do to get all three chimes to ring?

I TOOK THE CLOCK TO A ANTIQUE DEALER HE TOOK THE MOTOR OUT AND REPLACED IT WITH A BATTERY UNIT. I AM LOOKING TO REPLACE IT BACK WITH THE ORIGINAL MOTOR.

My Rittenhouse door chime\'s top plunger does not work, the previous homeowner said when he was hooking it up, by accident the top soleniod was getting power all the time and over heated and it has not worked right since... can this be fixed ????

This problem may be caused by a lighted doorbell. After the bell is wrung, the light will re-illuminate. When that happens it may be drawing just enough power to make the door chimes think that the button was pressed once again.
