Existing model was put in my home maybe late 60\'s, with ivory base unit and 4 ivory receivers plus brass door unit intercom. The radio reception is irregular, fades in and out and there is much static. Sometimes have to jiggle knobs on base unit to tune radio! It was there when I moved in so there is no manual for it.My problem is, after a thunder and lightening storm the other day, I came home to find all 3 units ringing. The only way I could silence them was to switch off the circuit breaker. If I turn the breaker back on the alarms start sounding again. How do I reset them. There is no apparent reset button; nor can I find a master control box or module anywhere. Do they use them? They are connected to the ceiling box by 4 wires. Any help would be appreciated. The rheostat is broken on this unit otherwise the unit is as melodious as it was 40 years ago.The numbers on the rheostat are 1406417 and 135-51 The motor is a Telechron synchronous motor. 118V--16 Model 3151 RPM 3. I have the exact same problem, but it\'s not caused by a lighted doorbell. Without the doorbell connect (and not crossing the wires) the chime mechanism keeps repeating. I\'m not sure whether it\'s because the contacts aren\'t lined up correctly or whether it\'s a wiring problem.
