I recently moved into a house that has the Rittenhouse All Transistor RCM-1 system in every room. It\'s obvious this system has not worked in a few years, but I want to repair it and keep it with the time of the home. A newer system would take away from it\'s appeal. I have the exact same problem, but it\'s not caused by a lighted doorbell. Without the doorbell connect (and not crossing the wires) the chime mechanism keeps repeating. My manual says 4-8 Note Chime Models (534, 535, 552, 577, 618, 633). I don't know which one I have. It has long chime tubes and a clock on top. The door bell works great, but the clock doesn't.
